JOB OPENING - Experienced Tax Preparer (Work-From-Home) for TAX SEASON: January 15 - May 1, 2024, Full-Time, NO OT

Who We Are:  We are a fully remote accounting firm with 11 team members providing bookkeeping/payroll services using QuickBooks Online and tax preparation and tax planning with Lacerte Tax Software.  Our firm has been in business since July 2003 and we have been awarded as a top firm in the US, leaders in our industry.  We work with entrepreneurs to guide them to be successful with the financial aspects of their businesses.

Qualifications:

MUST have 5+ years of corporate tax preparation experience. You will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation, basis for S-corps, rentals and have an entrepreneurial, small business acumen and tax planning skills. Required credentials would be CTEC, CPA or EA.


Other qualities are:

Professional, engaging personality, process-oriented, takes initiative and offers solutions, proactive, teachable, humble, hungry to learn and grow in your career, super comfortable on the computer (typing a minimum of 65 wpm),  able to recognize priorities and meet deadlines,  provides excellent customer service going the extra mile to build relationships and is not afraid to be on camera in Zoom calls or pick up the phone to call a client. 


Technology :

Because of the technology we use, this position can be done from any location in the U.S. Here are some programs we use daily = Word, Excel, SmartVault, ShareFile, Lacerte, Trapp Online, QuickBooks Online, Google Docs, Remote Desktop, eBillity, Asana and GoToMeeting.


The right person will:

 

  • Prepare business tax returns (S-corps, partnerships, C-corps), balance the tax balance sheet, and calculate basis
  • Prepare individual tax returns (Schedules A, B, C, D, and E)
  • Comfortable being on webcam to meet with clients and explain a completed tax return using Zoom
  • Knowledgeable to project current year tax liability and create scenarios to improve their situation (tax planning)
  • Review tax returns prepared by other team members, after demonstrating tax knowledge and understanding of client situation
  • Demonstrate knowledge of tax laws; know where to research to find answers; make decisions and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills on the phone, in an email, and during web meetings with clients
