Honest pricing for tax preparation, with no surprises at tax time.
Personalized estimates based on your prior return. Bundled service packages so you know exactly what you’re getting. And a team that takes time to explain what your numbers actually mean.
Most tax pros tell you the price after the work.
We tell you before.
Every new client gets a personalized estimate based on a review of their prior return, so you’ll know what to expect before you ever say yes. Below you’ll find the starting prices for our tax services, plus the strategy sessions and packages that go beyond the return itself.
Pricing starts here. Your exact estimate comes from us.
Two starting prices, two distinct types of returns. Final pricing depends on the forms, schedules, and complexities in your specific tax situation, all of which we’ll review with you before quoting a number.

- Secure e-filing and electronic delivery
- Complimentary review meeting for first-time clients
Business & Corporate Returns
For S-Corps, C-Corps, partnerships, and multi-member LLCs filing as their own entity.
Final price depends on entity type, complexity, and the level of activity in your books.
- Federal and state business return preparation
- S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, or LLC filings
- K-1 preparation for owners and partners
- Two-preparer review before filing
- Secure e-filing and electronic delivery
- Complimentary review meeting for first-time clients

Are we the right tax pro for you?
We’d rather tell you upfront than waste your time and ours. Here’s who we work well with and who we don’t.
We’re a strong fit if you:
Most of our best client relationships start here.
- Have more than a W-2: self-employment income, business ownership, rental properties, or other complexity
- Want a tax pro who explains your return in plain language, not just files it
- Are comfortable communicating over email and uploading documents through a secure portal
- Want proactive planning, not just reactive filing at the deadline
- Have your books current (or want our bookkeeping team to get them there)
- Are organized enough to gather documents and respond to questions in a timely way
We’re not the right fit if you:
No hard feelings. We’ll help you figure out what’s right.
- Have only a W-2 with no other tax complexity (we’re built for business owners and complex situations)
- Need an estate or trust return prepared
- Have K-1s from entities we didn’t generate (we work with K-1s only when we prepared them)
- Are more than 2 years behind on your taxes, including the current year and a prior year
- Prefer in-person appointments and aren’t comfortable with cloud-based tools
From estimate approved, to return filed
Here’s exactly what to expect, from the moment you approve your estimate to the moment your filed return lands in your portal.
Upload Documents
W-2s, 1099s, and supporting docs go to your client portal. Business clients give us QuickBooks Online access or fill out the business organizer.
Fill Out Organizer
Complete our online tax organizer. The sooner it’s in, the sooner we can start, especially if the clock’s ticking on a deadline.
We Prepare & Review
Your preparer completes the return, then a second preparer reviews it. Total process takes 4 to 5 weeks.
Choose Your Package
We alert you that the return is ready and you choose your tax package based on the support you want.
Review Meeting
Full Service and Premium clients schedule a screen-sharing meeting to walk through the return together.
Sign Electronically
We send your return for review and electronic signature through secure DocuSign.
Filed & Delivered
We process your fee, file the return, and upload your final copy to the portal within 3 business days.
What it’s like to do taxes with us
It is truly a pleasure working with AdminBooks. The entire process of completing my tax return was exceptionally thorough and professional. Once my taxes were complete, Renee reviewed all the details with me online. I am confident that my taxes and bookkeeping are in excellent hands with AdminBooks.
We were using a friend to do the books for our business. Mistake! At the end of the year, we had a binder full of junk and tax time was looming. We took the entire convoluted pile to AdminBooks and they fixed it like magic! They also did our personal return, and fast! We wound up getting back more from the IRS than ever before.
You truly do encompass all the parameters of a successful business-client relationship and beyond. You have educated us with updated information, simplified tax situations, and most importantly, you have given us peace of mind with your warm integrity. It’s been a true blessing!
Tax preparation questions, answered
The questions we hear most often during our Get Connected calls.
$900 reflects the actual work involved in preparing an individual return with any complexity: data entry, two-preparer review, secure delivery, and the time our tax team spends understanding your specific situation. We’re not built for simple W-2-only returns, which is why our starting price reflects the level of expertise our typical client needs.
Your final price depends on the forms, schedules, and complexities in your specific situation. We’ll review your prior year return and give you a personalized estimate before you commit.
Several factors can drive your price above the starting point:
Number of forms and schedules. Rental properties, investment activity, multiple businesses, and K-1s all add forms and review time.
Complexity. Stock options, crypto, foreign income, sale of a business or rental, and significant year-over-year changes require additional analysis.
State filings. Multiple state returns add to the total.
Because every situation is different, we don’t quote you a price until we’ve reviewed your prior year return. That review usually takes up to 3 business days, and we’ll share the estimate with you directly by phone or text.
After your Get Connected call, we’ll ask you to upload your most recent tax return to our secure portal. From there, our tax team takes up to 3 business days to review your return, factor in any changes you mentioned during the call, and build a personalized estimate.
We share the estimate with you directly by phone or text so you can ask questions in real time. If it works for you, we welcome you in as a client and your tax team takes over from there. If it doesn’t, no pressure either way.
Every return comes with a choice of three service levels:
Essentials is the return itself: prepared, reviewed by two preparers, and delivered through your secure portal, with estimated tax vouchers and monthly educational articles.
Full Service bundles in two meetings a year. The first reviews your completed return, and the second is a real-time tax projection: a mid-year 25-minute web meeting with two tax pros who project your liability so you can plan ahead. This is our most popular option.
Premium Support gives you four touchpoints a year plus unlimited email support, including three 25-minute consultations in June, September, and December and an updated tax projection with recommendations. It’s built for more complex or fast-changing situations.
You choose your package once your return is complete, based on the support you actually want. See full package details here.
From start to finish, our typical process takes 4 to 5 weeks. We operate on a first-in/first-out basis, so timing matters:
If you give us your information by February 1st, it typically takes 2 to 4 weeks.
If you give us your information by March 1st, we’ll need 4+ weeks.
If you give us your information by April 1st, we’ll file an extension on your behalf and complete the return after the deadline.
The earlier you start, the smoother the process.
No. Plenty of our tax clients keep their own books or use another bookkeeper. As long as your books are current and accurate when you bring us your business return, we can work from them.
That said, our bookkeeping and tax teams work under the same roof, so if you use us for both, your books and tax strategy are aligned year-round and there are no surprises at filing time. Many clients start with one service and add the other later. See our bookkeeping pricing here.
If you’re behind by one year (the current year plus the prior year), we can usually help, depending on your situation. We’ll discuss it during your Get Connected call.
If you’re more than 2 years delinquent, we’re not the right fit. Catching up on multiple years of back taxes requires a different kind of specialty, and we’d rather refer you to someone equipped for that work than take on something we can’t do well.
We work with K-1s only when we generated them ourselves (meaning we prepared the underlying entity return that produced the K-1). If you receive K-1s from outside entities we didn’t prepare, we’re not the right fit.
We also don’t prepare estate or trust returns. These require specialized expertise that’s outside what we offer. If you need either, we’re happy to point you toward a firm that specializes in that work.
Our strategy sessions are standalone consulting meetings designed to help you make informed tax decisions before you have to make them.
You might want a Tax Consultation to ask specific accounting questions and understand what’s driving your tax bill. An Entity Evaluation helps if you’re trying to decide between LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, or partnership. A Tax Projection shows you what your liability is shaping up to look like before the year ends, so you have time to adjust. And an Owner’s Compensation Analysis ensures you’re paying yourself the “reasonable salary” the IRS requires.
Strategy sessions are available whether or not you have us prepare your return.
Yes. We’re a cloud-based firm and serve clients across the United States. You’ll upload documents through our secure portal, communicate by email and phone, and meet with your preparer via screen-sharing video for your review meeting. Learn more about how our virtual team works.
If you prefer in-person appointments, we’re likely not the right fit. Our process is built for clients who are comfortable working over technology.
